Dan ByronSync placement (film)
Dan Byron has been involved with music since he was 6 years old. He studied violin for 4 years then moved on to flute for another 7 years. He only did a little vocal training, though at one point he dreamt of becoming an opera singer. He plays in rock bands since 1995; an ex-member of Urma and Kumm, significant bands in Romania’s alternative wave in the early 2000’s, since 2006 he’s the vocalist and main songwriter for the band byron. With them he released 6 studio albums and 3 live DVDs: „Acoustic Drama”, „Live Underground” (filmed in the Turda Salt Mine in Transylvania) and „Electric Marching Band”, alongside a military marching band and a students’ choir. With byron they also composed the original soundtrack for the HBO series „Rămâi cu mine”, released in 2014 on the album ”Melancolic”. He also wrote the music for ”Dopul scuză mijloacele”, a short directed by Mihai Ionescu, and for the theater play „Să-i îmbrăcăm pe cei goi” at Teatrul de Artă in Bucharest. During this time he collaborated with many artists including Alexandru Andrieș, Nicu Alifantis, Paula Seling, Luiza Zan.
