Born Elena Morosanu in Romania in 1990, Helen graduated at the jazz conservatories of Bucharest (RO) and Groningen (NL), quickly building a name for herself as a songwriter and singer for acts worldwide.
Based in Brussels she is dividing time between her own project and working as a songwriter for Universal Music France in Paris, Amsterdam and London.
Earlier this year Helen released a brand new EP entitled “Rare”. Combining retro, lo-fi pop sounds with a more classic R&B influenced beats, the EP is showcasing Helen’s amazing songwriting ability, with tracks that wouldn’t be amiss on the albums of fellow pop contemporaries such as Mahalia, Joy Crookes, Jorja Smith,…
Described by COMPLEX as ‘stunningly elegant’, Helen is known for her soaring, warm vocals and earworm choruses, Rare being no exception – featuring five sultry tracks about love, lust and relationships.
Various appearances on Belgian TV and Radio, stations an opening slot with FKJ, and a solo show at Eurosonic 2019 has already established Helen as one of the most exciting new European acts, and the release of Rare sees her sure to be on the lips of all pop lovers. Previous support comes from the likes of Complex, The Line Of Best Fit, Clash, Harper’s Bazaar and VICE.
