Maximilian Paproth joined Universal Music Group from Sony/ATV, where he was Head of Creative for Germany, Austria and Switzerland and part of the European A&R team. Previously, he worked for independent music publisher Budde Music for more than a decade, serving as Chief Executive of its UK operations prior to joining Sony/ATV in 2014. Throughout his career, Paproth has been responsible for signing artists including Felix Jaehn, Milky Chance, Annenmaykantereit, Wincent Weiss, Joris, Max Giesinger, Moderat, Digitalism, and Cubeatz. In February 2018 he switched to Universal Music into Frank Briegmann’s team as Senior Director A&R Central Europe. In this newly created position, he is responsible for signing and developing European and international talent throughout the region. He also focuses on activating creative opportunities between domestic UMG labels and local artists within Central Europe, whilst supporting Universal Music Germany’s A&R team on future projects.
