Șerban-Ionuț Georgescu was born in the Romanian city of Constanța and started playing bass at the age of 16, in his high school’s band. After working towards his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics he moved to Bucharest, where he got a perfect 10 for his master’s thesis (titled “Procedural Techniques for Video Game Audio”) in audio-video production at the Polytechnic University.
During his studies, he kept developing his musical career, holding numerous concerts in Romania and beyond and launching several albums / videos with various artists. His most notable projects at the time of writing are White Walls, the cult progressive metal band from Constanța, LOV, one of Romania’s most highly regarded wedding/corporate/private event bands, and Jean Gavril, an up-and-coming singer/songwriter from the same hometown of Constanța.
Șerban has been passionate about all aspects of music (theory, business, technique, science) from the start of his career and had the chance to accumulate vast knowledge and experience throughout his career, which allowed him to adapt to any musical situation: stadium gigs, clubs, session work and so on, and varied musical genres, to go with his ever expanding tastes (jazz, grindcore, funk, alternative rock / prog, metal / hardcore, hip-hop).
His ultimate goal is the relentless, lifelong pursuit of music as a science, an art form, a means of communication and everything in between.
Some of his career highlights include:
International Awards (4th place @ GBOB World Finals in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2011 with White Walls)
4 European tours (playing in DE, NL, FR, UK, SK, SL, HU, MD, PL, RO, UA, CH etc)
Session work / songwriting with various artists (Delia, Sore, Rockabella, Fameless, Valeria Stoica, Vohn Toe, etc.)
Sharing the stage with artists such as Rammstein, Deftones, Meshuggah, Motley Crue etc.
